Out of Office Notice

Hi Guys,

I'm going to be out of the office until the beginning of January. Hope everyone has a happy and safe new year.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 150 Points

Missed a few of these while I was out, but here are three codes, totally 150 points at KFR.

My Coke Rewards: Hilton and Holidays

My Coke Rewards has launched a Boxes of Joy game, where you can win a prize instantly. It costs one code to play, and it appears that, if you use the code to enter, you will not get points for that code. Skip the rip-off. Instead, see section 3b in the rules for a free entry. You can enter up to three times per day.

Don't have a Hilton Hhonors account? Sign up here and get 100 MCR points.

KFR: 200 points for logging in

Cool, they told me I'd get 200 points the next time I logged in. Points are supposed to be credited within three days, so I will probably have forgotten about them, anyway.

Pampers Gifts to Grow: 15 points

Whoo-hoo, 15 points!

Enter code CMA94PB3LO2MD15 at Pampers.

My Coke Rewards Annoyance and the Lost 25 Days of Christmas

MCR has a new game out. Enter a code, click the button and get told that you didn't win. The game may be called "Boxes of Joy," but I've found it to be boxes of something else not suitable for public printing.

Be careful with this one: It tells you to enter a code from one of your caps, but if you use the code to play, you don't get points for it. Instead, see the rules here, in particular, Rule #3, sub-category b. It gives you a link to play for free and, while previous Coke contests had capped you at five free entries per day, this one caps you at forty. So I played forty times. And lost forty times. It didn't cost me anything except some time and the feeling in my typing fingers. I could play using the other accounts in my household, but why bother?

Disney Movie Rewards usually does the "25 days of Christmas" starting in December. It has not been announced this year. Too bad. The promo gave five points per day, so it was a good way to accumulate a bonus or two.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 100 Points

Ah, another Thanksgiving goes by. So we'll celebrate with cereal. Here is 100 points from KFR.

I don't know who Juls B is, but I'm happy to take the points.

The Annual CVS Black Friday Freebies

There are four truly great days of the year at CVS: The third day after Halloween, the third day after Easter, the third Day after Christmas and Black Friday. The first three are the days that all the candy from the holiday goes on sale. It will start at 50% off and, a few days later, will be 75% off. If you wait for the 75% off, however, you risk getting stuck with just Whoppers and Necco Wafers, so use your judgment and scout it out.

The fourth day is Black Friday. It's actually Black Friday plus the day before and after, but if you go on Thursday, you risk the shelves not being stocked and, if you go on Saturday, you risk stuff being gone. Of course, you can always get a rain check, but who wants to get started?

CVS extrabucks

CVS has a rewards program called extrabucks (EB), which are rebates that can be used for any purchase at CVS.. On certain items, they will give you back EB when you purchase the item. For example, they might have an offer that gives you $2 in extrabucks when you buy a $6 tin of cookies. After you make the purchase, your receipt will have a coupon for $2 that can be used at CVS toward your next purchase.

Every year on Black Friday weekend, CVS has a bunch of items that are "free after EB." For example, there might be a toothbrush on sale for $2 that comes with an EB coupon for $2. Usually, there's one or two of those each week. For Black Friday, there are usually at least a dozen. The downside is that they have been offering less and less each year. This year, there are only 13 items, two of which you can buy two of.

How to Do It

You'll need a CVS circular and a self-checkout register. Also, print out the $.50 Colgate toothpaste coupon from before going. The deals are usually about the same nationwide, but there are occasionally substitutions. Each year, I work out the way to maximize your free items. This year, you can get 15 items, all referenced below (and listed in the circular) for $.27 OOP (out of pocket). The items would sell for a total of $22.85 without coupons. Here's how you do it:
Find the most expensive item. In this case, it's the "No Gray Quick Fix." It doesn't matter if you are actually going to use the item, since you can always donate it to charity if you don't. Remember, it's free.

We're going to put the NGQF to the side for the moment and start with our most expensive combination. It includes the GUM toothbrush ($2), the Trolli candy ($2) and the Starburst/Skittles, Excedrin and CVS Pantiliners, which are $1 each. Finally, add in a Hershey's or Reese's bar for $.77. The total will be $7.77, and you'll receive $7.77 in EB on your receipts.

Now, move to the next most expensive combination, which is the No Gray ($5.79), Orbit gum ($1) and M&Ms/Twix/Airheads ($.79). That combination totals $7.58. Use the EB from the previous transaction to buy these three items. Alas, $.19 goes to waste ($7.77-$7.58).

Finally, go to the last combo, including a second toothbrush (These are two per household.), a Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso ($1.50) the second pantiliners (also two per household) and the Colgate toothpaste. Scan your CVS card at the coupon counter and you'll get a coupon for $2.50. Combined with the $.50 coupon from, you'll get the toothpaste for free. These items cost $7.50 totals, meaning that $.08 from the previous transaction goes to waste. At the end, You'll have $7.50 worth of extracare bucks to use at a future date. Since everything cost you $7.77 OOP, you just got 15 items for $.27.

I recommend doing these at the self-checkout register so you don't drive the cashier and the line behind you crazy. If there is a problem, don't panic. A CVS associate will come over and help you. Trust me, you won't be the only one doing this.

Have a happy and safe holiday.

Disney Movie Rewards: Monthly Points

I got my link for DMR over the weekend for my free monthly points. If you didn't see yours, check your spam folder. If you still don't see it, shoot them an email and they'll manually credit the points.

In case you couldn't tell from the title, MCR is offering double points on caps for the next few days.

Cheap Candy Day!

Retailers have caught on that people show up the day after holidays hoping for discounted candy, so they've pushed it back a few days. But it's three days later, so there should be at least some 50% off stuff by now.

Disney Movie Rewards and some subtle begging

I'm going to be traveling for the next few days, so posting might be less frequent. Oh, please bear with me, today has been a loooonnnngggg day.

First, I just got my monthly points link from DMR last night, so keep an eye out for yours. I didn't get one last month, but I emailed them and they awarded me the points.

So I hate to do this, because nobody likes listening to bloggers shill credit cards, but I'm going to ask for your help for the next time you apply for a credit card or do an app-o-rama.

And by helping me, you'll be helping you! As you know, bloggers receive a commission when somebody applies through their site for a credit card. Thus, there is always an inherent conflict of interest. But the companies that provide links will only let you keep them if you get a minimum number of applications per month.

So here's the deal: I will give you 100% of whatever commission I receive. I'm just looking for applications to keep the links active. You can see all the details here, but it's pretty easy. Once you get approved, let me know at I'll keep an eye out for the application. It doesn't tell me who did what, but if your email coincides with an application, I can connect them. They're usually pretty good about tracking for me, although it may not convert if you have to call and speak to a representative who processes it manually.

That's all. Have a good night, everyone.

Please, if you use the codes, take two seconds to post in the comments.

Pampers Points: 30 points

A few days of codes to catch up on for Pampers. They're worth 5, 10 and 15 points.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 105 points

105 points? That's a new one. Here's two codes, the former of which is 100 points and the next is 5. That's okay, they're both free at KFR.

Free toothpaste at CVS

This one is kind of cool. A number of different Colgate toothpaste brands are on sale at CVS for $3.00. The coupon dispenser will print you an instant $2.00 coupon and there is a $1.00 coupon in the Sunday newspaper (which means that it can also likely be found online). That results in a price of, um, er, oh yeah, free! And it's a real free, not the "here's some extrabucks" kind.

Old Orchard: 500 points

I had totally forgotten about this one. Take a two-minute survey at Old Orchard Juices and get 500 points.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 100 points

It's going to be really annoying when they go to a system where you have to upload receipts but, then again, the code on the boxes (or the program at all, for that matter) never made a difference in my purchase habits.

Enter KFRMOMSLUVPOINTS at KFR for 100 points.

Thursday, August 20, 2015

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 125 points

I've had all kinds of issues trying to log in today, but finally got there. Gee, what a surprise.

Note: They don't ask your gender, so I'm guessing even the dads will be okay on that second one. Personally, I find it to be sexist.

I don't know why Facebook is worth more than Twitter, but I'm not going to argue with free points. Enter the codes here.

I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do with all these points. And no, I'm not having another kid just to use them. 15 points at Pampers:

5 points: TWITL4BV7AR9C15

Recyclebank: 310 points

Just got back from a short trip and, besides freaking out a flight attendant for wearing the wrong t-shirt, it was uneventful. To celebrate, here's 310 points to learn about paper, the dullest thing on earth, at Recyclebank. Note: If it has a video, you need to watch the whole video for credit.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 40 points

I've spent a lot of this morning pondering the following: If I gave my kid a choice of eating or playing on the iPad, how many consecutive days would he choose the latter before deciding that he was hungry?

Hopefully, he'd eat cereal, since I'd get KFR points.

20 Coke entries for an amusement park ticket (I think?)

So I received a notice telling me that, if I enter 20 codes before 8/14, I'll get a free ticket to one of a number of amusement parks:

"Get a ticket to one of your favorite amusement parks or waterparks, including Cedar Point, Knott's Berry Farm, Kings Island & more. Enter 20 codes from participating MCR packages by 8/14 to enjoy this offer."
But when I check the fine print and open the email, only Cedar Point is listed as a ticket you can get for 20 code entries. All the others are listed as being available for the bargain price of 1,000 points. Um, no thank you.

Added "enhancement:" If you do enter codes through the special link toward Cedar Point, you don't get points for it.

Kellogg's: Up to 600 bonus points

It's sort of as easy as it sounds. Go to KFR and first enter code THER-ESSO-MUCH-2LUV.

At the bottom of your dashboard page, there are five different ways to earn 100 points each for relatively easy activities. Might as well take advantage of it.

Pampers Gifts to Grow: 15 points

They even changed up the website a bit, moving it from "bad" to "a little less bad."

Five points: TWI789CNLWRQL15

Upcoming double points for Sprite 7/20-26

Start hoarding your Sprite caps, since you'll get double points from July 20-July 26. I don't actually drink soda anymore but, then again, I don't use Pampers and I still collect those points.  Hmm.

Monday, July 13, 2015

And we're back! 175 Recyclebank points

Hi folks. Let me tell you, anybody who says, "It's not the heat, it's the humidity," has never been to Las Vegas in July.

On the plus side, Energy and Us will get you 175 RB points.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 125 points

The beginning of the month used to be so exciting. There were always new promos and points codes in the past. Now? Nothing. Just because the business model of giving stuff for free every month wasn't working is no reason that I should be deprived.

Oh, here's some KFR codes:

Saturday, June 27, 2015

Recyclebank: 70 points

Here's a few randoms from Recyclebank:

Click through a few screens about DIY and you'll get 25 points.

E-waste for 20 points.

Like trees? Here's 25 points to learn about them.

Monday, June 22, 2015

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 125 points

On the downside, they're getting rid of codes on boxes. On the plus side, cereal was on sale for $1.88 before coupons this weekend.

Thanks to Hunt4Freebies for these freebies.

Pampers Points: 10 points

Well, here's a nice way to start off the week. 10 points from Pampers using code FB89C2N12NCLF15.

My Coke Rewards: 5 point redemption for a Shutterfly book

This redemption isn't too bad. If you use Shutterfly, MCR has an offer for a 20 page book for only five MCR points. You'll pay S&H, but it's one of the 20 page books, so if you're a Shutterfly user, it's a great opportunity.

Uber and Lyft: Sign-up bonuses

If you are one of the nine remaining people in the world who haven't signed up for Uber or Lyft ride services yet (There were only about 12 people left when I signed up, so don't feel bad.), here are a couple of reasons to do so: free credits.

I used my Lyft credits today, since they expire in a couple of days.  I found the drivers to be a bit more interactive with Lyft than Uber and the prices a touch cheaper (no surge pricing during rush hour today, for instance).  On the other hand, there are more Uber drivers and the app is a little more  user-friendly.  But on a the third hand, we each get the credits below if you sign up with my referral code.  Nothing like a couple of free rides.

Lyft: MICHAEL918142 ($30)
Uber: michaelf1649 ($20)

Free Pampers Points: 10 points

The website is acting funky today.  Good luck.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 125 points

Fortunately, it appears that KFR will continue to offer bonus codes. Good luck uploading all those receipts, though. And my supermarket doesn't offer a loyalty card. How is that supposed to work?

100 Points: FREEBONUSFROMKFR (They've never used this code before? Seriously?)

I just got new glasses which help me see quite nicely at a distance, but really mess things up when I've got a computer in front of my face. In honor of my new glasses, here are two of my favorite scenes from The Simpsons:

Keep an eye on your email for the monthly bonus from DMR.  Note that there is also a link in there for 25 points by connecting your account to Facebook.

On the plus side, they haven't shot all the free codes at KFR.  Yet.

Double My Coke Rewards points at Sprite

I guess it's good.  Through June 14, enter Sprite codes for double MCR points.  It's really too bad I've given up soda.

Kellogg's shoots KFR; long live KFR

Well, it had to happen.  A few weeks ago, I posted about an "enhanced" KFR program.  I didn't know what the enhancement would be, just that there was an enhancement coming.  And here it is.

Instead of printing codes on the inside of packages, KFR is going to scanning of receipts and linked supermarket loyalty cards.  So why is that bad?
  • Anyone who has ever had to upload a receipt knows that the tools can be very clunky.
  • No more sharing of codes (good for them, bad for us)
  • It may slowly lead to the end of bonus codes.
No guarantee that bonus codes, where I get the majority of my points are going away, but these changes can't help.

Well, not really.  Here's a MCR code for three points.  Please post once you have used it so that others will know.  Thanks!

And a quick favor to ask...

So I have a quick favor to ask, and it will help both of us:

Several months ago, a company was nice enough to give me credit card links so that I could make my fortune and retire a wealthy man, rolling in bags of money.  Funny how that works. Late last year, I read an article about the TSA confiscating a child's toy. The parent of that child used the publicity to start a campaign to get people to donate toys to charity, so I decided that any money I get from links will go to a charity.

Bookmark this page.  Really.  Next time you need a credit card, apply through the link above (It helps to clear your cookies before using the link.). I'm also happy to rebate the entire commission to you, as long as you let me know when you applied for it and what you applied for.

A couple of things:

1) You may have heard about the hundreds of dollars the bloggers get from the credit card companies.  So have I.  Alas, I have to go through a third party that takes a healthy chunk of the commission from me, so you won't get rich either from the applications.  But it's enough to buy a kid new shoes.

2) I have no way of identifying who is actually approved for a card, just that there was an approval.  And occasionally, cards get approved through my site without generating a commission.  Usually, it has to do with stored cookies, but sometimes, well, I don't know enough about these referral programs to know why bad things sometimes happen.  In other words, it is, as Billy Joel would say, A Matter of Trust.

And that's all.  Any questions, hit me at  Otherwise, here's the link once again.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: Enhancements coming?

Most of us know that any time a program is "enhanced," it gets devalued.  I got an email today from KFR telling me that in June, the program will be "bigger, better and easier than ever!"  Uh oh...

Free movie tickets from My Coke Rewards

I was scolded last night for not writing enough about MCR, so it's a good thing that I got a MCR deal in my email.  Even better, it's actually a pretty good one.  Enter six Minute Maid codes before June 30 and you will get a free movie at  You can get up to five codes, so they're fairly generous.  And if you're anything like me, movies=nap, which those of us with kids cherish.  Details are here.

By the way, this promo is a good reason to hoard codes.  Every once in a while, MCR runs a brand-specific promo.

Free Starbucks drink for you, free stars for me

As my 11 or so regular readers (Thanks extended family!) know, I'm a Starbucks junkie.  And now, here's a chance for me to benefit from your hard work!  Oh, and you can benefit, too.

Sign up here and you'll get a free drink when you register a Starbucks rewards card and allow them to send you emails (to the email address of your choice).  And I get six stars.  For the uninitiated, you get a star every time you make a purchase.  Get twelve stars and you get a free drink, which means that I get a free drink if I refer, hang on, let me grab the calculator, oh yeah, two people.  Enjoy!

And now, off to find my t-shirt with a picture of Marty the Rabbit Boy and his Musical Blender.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 20 points

Apparently, KFR read some of my previous posts, because they knocked down the freebies to 20 points for this code.  No matter, enter POPTARTSAVENGERS.

Pampers Gifts to Grow: 35 points

Nothing like some Mother's Day Pampers points.  And as a father, I can assure you that there is nothing like having kids that are no longer in diapers.

Go to Pampers and enter codes FBM5D3ARW788815 and TWIT89CN4522215 for 15 points total.  I think the first is the 10-pointer.  And for another 20, enter CM5TY218FRM2015.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 50 points

My wife is eating something called a "Veggie Dog."  Seriously?  I never actually believed that there was meat in hot dogs, anyway.

Oh, yeah, 50 points from KFR.  LETSHEARITFORMOM.  No, I mean, that's the code.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 50 points

All of a sudden, the codes are popping up again.  Enter CELEBRATESMOTHER at KFR for 50 points.

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

Pampers points: 25 free points

I'm pretty sure the first code is ten points and the second is five, but either way, you'll get 15 points at Pampers.

I also got 10 points for watching a video at the bottom of this page.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 50 points

Here's another 50 points.  Enjoy with code KFRFIESTA4POINTS.

Disney Movie Rewards: Monthly points

I got my monthly email with free Disney Rewards points, which probably means you got yours, too.  I got six points this month.

Are all these free points worth it?  I don't know.  But over time, I've gathered just over 3,000 points.  A few of those came from DVDs that we bought or Listia, but I'd say 80-90% of them were freebies.  2,800 points gets me a Bluetooth keyboard, whatever that is, while 3,500 gets a really cool Goofy clock.  The current top prize is 15,000 points, a private tour of Walt Disney Studios.

Recyclebank: 155 points

I have to admit, I don't check Recyclebank as often as I should.  But it's always important to check at the beginning of the calendar month, since the site usually does one big promo per month.  This month is all about organic waste and is worth 155 points.

Pampers Points: 15 points

A couple of new codes for the Pampers points collectors in the group.

FB89TACE2445415: 10 Points
TWIT89N22344415: 5 Points

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 150 points

One thing about Kellogg's: They know how to screw up a website.  I was finally able to sign in after about a week.  On the other hand, I have a bunch of codes to enter.

Shutterfly offer at My Coke Rewards

I've never actually used Shutterfly, mostly because the internet still scares me a little, but this redemption offer from MCR looks like a good one: five points for 100 prints.  Keep an eye on S&H costs.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 105 points

Ahh, the rare 5-point code, along with a 100 pointer.  Enter them here.

Saturday, April 18, 2015

Pampers points: 20 points

I don't actually see a lot of 20 point freebies.  Normally, it's 5 or 10.  Still, who am I to turn them down.  Head to Pampers and enter code: C4M8T4YFRDM2015.

Disney Movie Rewards: Monthly points

Got my DMR email today, so check and make sure yours is there and not in your spam or something.  Seven points for me and the Celtics beat Cleveland.  What else can you ask for?

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Pampers Gifts to Grow: 15 points

It's been a while for these guys, so they were nice enough to produce two codes.  Enter them at Pampers' website.

Monday candy

Just remember, tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year: the day after Easter, when all the Easter candy goes on sale.  The sweet spot is somewhere between 50% and 75% off.  You'll have more choice at the former, but better prices at the latter.  If you like Peeps, you can probably wait.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 200 points

Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season.  In honor of the holidays, here's 200 Kellogg's points.  Thanks to Hunt4freebies for help with the codes.

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Recyclebank: 130 points

It's time for the monthly freebie from Recyclebank.  Head here, go through a few slide shows and pick up your points.

KFR: 150 points

So much for the "not KFR codes all the time."  On the plus side, it's 150 points.

Monday, March 30, 2015

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 125 points

It's that time of year for more KFR: 125 points for the following:

Added bonus: Enter four codes between now and 3/20/15 and you'll get an extra 400 points.  It's incentives like these that are the reason that you should hoard codes.

Double points at MCR 3/11-3/13

So Friday the 13th will be bad again this month, but only because it ends the Double MCR promo on Coke product caps.  Get it while it's hot.

Monday, March 9, 2015

Pampers Points: 15 points

One of these days, I'm going to have to think of something to do with all of these points.  Until then, here's a code for 15 more:

Disney Movie Rewards: 25 points

Hey, something different for a change.  25 points available from DMR, with each code representing five points:

KFR: 75 free points

Back from a few days away and, as usual, there are Kellogg's points waiting for me.  75 of them, in fact.

Kellogg's Family Rewards: 150 points

I'm on the west coast this week and my head hurts.  I don't think the two are related.

Here are 150 points from Kellogg's.

Meanwhile, my kids have become obsessed with Frozen cereal (from the movie, not really cold cereal).  Fortunately, I get codes on the boxes.  And I'm a sucker.

Kellogg's, My Coke Rewards and Disney Movie Rewards

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit lazy today, so I"m going to do this all in one chunk.

Kellogg's: 150 points for entering codes KELLOGGSREWARDSU and RESCUEYOURPOINTS.  I can't remember how much each code gives, so try them both.

My Coke Rewards: Head through the link and invite five friends.  Once they accept, you'll get a coupon for a free 20 oz at Target.  Hey, you must know five people or have five email addresses.

Disney Movie Rewards: Five points each for codes FEAST and BIGHERO6.

Friday, February 20, 2015

Pampers points: 15 points

I'm still in "All Pampers, all the time" mode.  As I tell my kids, I get what I get, and I don't get upset.

Go to Pampers and get

5 points for code TWIT89898989815

I tend to miss these ones occasionally, since they're not codes, but I caught it this time.  Go here, scroll down to where you can click the "I read it" button and click.

Wednesday, February 4, 2015 Free membership in online shopping warehouse club

It took me a while to figure this one out, but it appears that, which hasn't actually launched yet, is the online equivalent of the warehouse club.  I laughed it off at first, but after reading a Bloomberg Business article and discovering that this guy is the one who started, I have decided that he is probably the real deal.  Anyway, it's free for six months, so the most I have to lose is, well, zero.

Oh, if you sign up through my link, they will shower me with glory.  Well, not really, but I might get something.  You can too, if you want to start a conga in the comments.

Disney Movie Rewards: Check your email

I just got my monthly email for Disney Movie Rewards.  Normally, I get 5-10 points but, for some reason, I got 25 this month.  I'm not complaining.

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Kellogg's Family Rewards: Bonus points for Apple & Cinammon Jacks

One of the nice things about KFR is that if you don't show up for a while, they'll give you bonus points.  I got 100 for entering a code.  but the 100 bonus points for every Apple/Cinnamon Jacks code through 2/2 is for everybody.  It's a good reason to hoard codes.

They must have a lot of Jacks in inventory.

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

And here's 15 Pampers Points for people just like you.  Not you, people just like you.  Okay, you can have them too.  Just enter code TWITSCLBBECMM14.
